Synopsis

The family could see the countdown to Rosalind's life. Believing she would not live past eighteen, they poured all their resources into favoring her, while mistreating her younger sister, Elowen. When Elowen ran a high fever, her parents locked her in the cold, dark basement while they busied themselves preparing for Rosalind's eighteenth birthday. The girl died in despair.
